The Sustainable Living Stage as part of the HIA Sydney Home Show & Build Green Expo is an interactive speaker forum – dedicated to green renovation, building and design.

The stage will incorporate an eco-friendly setting designed by Eminè Mehmet - an expert in Sustainable design and lifestyle.

  • sustainable principles,
  • passive and active design,
  • recycling,
  • energy efficiencies,
  • water conservation,
  • greener gardens and more.

Visitors will be able to obtain critical advice on the best way to reduce their carbon footprint in their home, how to take advantage of the environment in order to protect it and get the low down on the latest green products & initiatives. Speaker Profiles

Eminč Mehmet

Eminè Mehmet is an Interior Designer, Global Sustainability Ambassador, Writer and Speaker and was recently appointed National Advocate of The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife.  She is passionate about Design and Sustainability and intertwines these passions making them easily accessible to everyone, not just the experts.

She is a Green Star Accredited Professional, Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia and a past President of the Design Institute of Australia New South Wales Council.

Eminè has appeared on television programs including “Bright Ideas”, Channel 10 and “Home” on the Lifestyle Channel.

 

Daniel Wurm – GreenPainters

Daniel Wurm is managing director of the National Institute of Painting and Decorating, and the Green Business Institute. He is one of Australia's leading paint consultants, and in 2009 he co-founded the non-profit GreenPainters program to improve the sustainability of the painting industry. He has spent 4 years training painters in Australia and the U.S. to go green.

In 2011 GreenPainters was a finalist in the United Nations World Environment Day Awards, and in 2012 was a finalist in the Queensland Premier's Sustainability Awards. After being voted as a top 50 Your Future Home Sustainability Leader in 2012, Daniel established the Green Building Institute and is currently developing the GreenTradies Accreditation program to help all tradies go green.

 

Nick Marino – Ichijo Homes

Nick Marino has been employed in the property industry for close to 20 years, covering the management of several large sales departments, day-to-day operational management and strategic planning for several major New South Wales builders.

 

 

 

 

 

Sam Vivers – Viva Living Homes

Sam Vivers has over 15 years’ experience in the building industry and is Australia’s leading educator in straw bale building (runs Australia’s only straw bale building course). Sam has built over 22 straw bale and earth complete homes and buildings for clients.
